From the Oneonta Outlaws
The Oneonta Outlaws of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) have announced the first three signings for the 2012 season. The Outlaws have recently joined the PGCBL after playing in the NYCBL from 2004-2011.

The Outlaws, who captured the NYCBL Title in 2011, have signed the only returning player from their championship roster, RHP Donovan Gonzales, along with OF AJ Beckley and INF/OF Cody Hough.

Team Co-Owner/GM Keith Rogers said, “We are thrilled to continue our strong relationship with the UC Riverside Baseball Program. Coach Smith is one of the best in the business and they play in the very competitive Big West conference. To have the opportunity to get two everyday players from such a quality baseball program and having Gonzales return a year stronger is exciting.”

Gonzales, a 43 Round draft pick of the Florida Marlins out of high school, had a promising freshman year in 2010 that saw him lead the team's pitching staff in ERA, finished second in opposing batting average, and tied for third in saves. He sat out the entire 2011 season recovering from a serious illness. He had a great summer in 2011 with the Outlaws, leading team with (3) complete games and 3.16 ERA in 37 IP’s.

Beckley, a speedy, lefty hitting OF from Redlands, CA is expected to be an everyday OF after seeing limited time in his freshman year. He was a Third Team All State (CA) in 2010.

Hough, will be an everyday player for the Highlanders this season after seeing limited time in his freshman year. He is a very versatile sophomore from Corona, CA and will see time at both 3rd base & OF this season.

The Oneonta Outlaws are proud members of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL). They joined the PGCBL in 2012 after competing in the NYCBL from 2004-2011(Saratoga Phillies 2004-2009/Oneonta Outlaws 2010-2011). Their season extends from June-August each summer and they play at Historic Damaschke Field, home of former NY-Penn League affiliates for both the New York Yankees & Detroit Tigers.
