From the Rochester Honkers May 9th Press Release
(Rochester, MN) St. Scholastica’s Peter Burg, who will pitch for the Rochester Honkers this summer, reached the 10-win plateau Thursday, May 8th, versus Northland College in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Tournament.
Burg threw six innings, giving up just one on four hits, in the Saints’ 14-1 rout of the Lumberjacks. He struck out eight in the contest, and worked his record to 10-0 in 11 starts this season. He has thrown five complete games this year, and has lowered his ERA to 2.35. He has also recorded 59 strikeouts in 65 innings.
Behind Burg’s efforts, the Saints finished the regular season 29-4, and claimed the regular season UMAC title with a 17-1 record in conference play. They will play in the tournament’s semi-finals Friday night.
